These guys aren't that far away....

Maybe Hi Tech in San Rafael. I have seen a couple of 914s there before.
Gavin Autowerks 510-241-3876
He is in Oakland other side of the freeway from the arena .
He is awesome .
I am very active in the local PCA and we do use Pacific Power (Gavin is better with 914s)
Deitsche Motor Sport (right at Buchanan Airport. "Good", but very busy, better with a known fix than discovery, $$$ & not a 914 fan.
LaVere is swamped with VW work and prices have shot up (folks are paying big bucks for full restorations)
Please reach out if you need info / more info or would like to joinup with us.
I have pulled my tank out/ done the hard lines, done sway bars and got mine running with info from here on this forum. if you wanted a hand ...

They have come through for me several times over the years and have done some good work on my 914.
There's one older guy who really knows 914s, can't remember his name but he sorted out my clutch problems in no time and charged me way less than the estimate because it ended up being less work than anticipated.
Does Denny Kahler still have a workshop out that way?
I know several places in the South Bay, including High Performance House in Redwood City (they're 914 specialists!), Heyer Performance in Mountain View, and RMG in Sunnyvale. Not sure about East Bay places though.
