914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Need touch up paint and weird brake problem.

Posted by: 914 jackie Jul 31 2018, 09:52 PM

In need of, I think it's called Arctic Blue touch up paint.
Maybe a gallon or 2 w00t.gif w00t.gif
Not really, but more than a pen if possible.
Where in the heck can you get it?

As for the weird brake issue, they are fine except when I've been on the freeway for a while, then they go to the floor!
Staying on surface streets works, but I'd like to know what's up.
Anyone else ever have this problem?

Thanks, as always, you guys are the best!

Adriatic Blue possibly? (One of my all time favorite colors on a 914.)

The paint code should be on a tag in the drivers door jamb. You can visit a local automotive paint shop for touchup paint, or sites like automotivetouchup.com

I had the same problem recently, dragging left rear brake caliper causing fluid to boil. See if your wheels turn freely.

For paint, try ExpressPaint.com I've used their rattle can paint, and it matched my L21E Tangerine color and worked well to touch up over repairs.

Your brakes have air in the hydrolic lines, bleed the brakes really good, including the proportioning valve.
And your rear brake venting clearance is too big.
Bleed and adjust, you'll be happy.

Dragging brake caliper on one of the corners or maybe even a stuck parking brake.

PS: Adriatic Blue would be paint code L50E, the paint code should be on the small black plate mounted on the inside of the drivers side door jamb.
