Wondering if anyone has any experience using one for engine run in
for T4? Bad idea?
I know its kinda high up just curious about shaking/rocking forces?

How are you going to start it?
I have a 1200lbs stand that likely would be OK, I also have a cheap HF 500lbs stand...no fuching way would I trust it.
I almost toppled a high end 930 engine off it, got real lucky and caught it, I bought the bigger stand because of it. I can't take chances with my 911 and 996 builds.
I had a stand built for running-in engines that's now at MAAP (Madison Automotive Apprentices Program (JMU).

This stand incorporates a Zalex ring and Zalex control box.

This is over-engineered and will take more weight than a 356 engine as I wanted to use it for 911 engines as well. The feet are industrial casters with a retracting foot which can be lowered. When they are lowered it is absolutely stable.

To answer Bruce's query, I did the the same thing with a trans case cutting it off so I could mount it with starter.

Here's my cam break-in setup (wood blocking under tranny back end)
A painted engine bar is good for 10 h.p.
You *can* do it, but I wouldn't (again). The first time you hit a bump or expansion joint and the stand starts to teeter you will see your life flash before your eyes.
I almost lost a T1 engine on one of these stands and that weighs way less.
