Seeing that dbcooper has passed, it got me thinking that we need a nailed thread
Honering our friends. sad.gif We could ad pictures and stories of the good times.

Mike aka Dr Evil has that going in his signature. Might not be a bad idea to start a thread reflecting his list with some pic's. I'm still haunted by Jeff Stroud's post in the WCR thread after the Doc gave him the bad news; "I'm not going to make it." At the time I was disappointed but I had no idea of it's double meaning until later. I still bothers me. sad.gif

I think this is a great idea. Turning 70 in November. Vietnam vet. I figure about 30 years and I'm gone. Lol. Grandfather lived to 97. Mom is 93. I figure my chances are good. Rip, my brothers who have gone before me.

The thing is, sometimes I am surprised at how I seem to know many of you better than some folks I see pretty often. Leaves a hole when one disappears.

I don't remember falling, but I'm pretty sure I got up.

I think its really nice to remember people. Even more nice to get them driving their 914s before they go.

Posted by: PanelBilly Aug 15 2018, 10:18 AM

Could we get some of the rememberance threads moved under the nailed title too?

Posted by: Dr Evil Aug 15 2018, 11:42 AM

With my life getting crazy over the last 4 years, my list in my sig has not been all inclusive, and that bothers me. If anyone wants to start a thread, feel free to poach the names and dates I have listed.

Its been rough. I bought Ken's (zymergist's) motorcycle from his sister after he suddenly passed. Jim passed. And that is just in the few years. Ron and Howie started it all for me as these are all people I knew in real life. Having gone to so many clinics and events over the 10+ years being here, it gets to hurting. Community here does help with the empty feeling left by their departure.

Would a "nailed thread" have to be done by a admin?

Posted by: JRust Aug 15 2018, 12:45 PM

I think a sticky thread or pinned at the top would be a great idea

Eddy, pm Sir Andy with your request. I'm sure he would set that up. beerchug.gif

I agree we should have a "wall" or tbread tacked to the top.
A very fitting adfition for our comrades that are only with us in spirt now.

Looking back it's sad to realize so many people I have interacted with in the past are gone.

No, anyone can start a thread and post, it's only the nailing part that has to be done by an admin.
