Looks interesting. I wonder how hard it would be to make.

I don't know if I would trust that. It looks like it might twist or something.

The ram on that thing is as big as a rhino dick.
Way off topic

The lift looks a lot and works like mine but mine is only a 3/4 lift or has a ram like a horse dick. laugh.gif

Mines a vintage service station lift I picked up for 350 bucks, I tried some searches on the web for information on it but came up empty. Check the classifieds now and then sometimes you can get lucky.

I looked at making one, but frankly didn't want to get side-tracked from getting things done on the car. I think Harbor Freight or Northern or ? catalog's them.

Harbor Freight has a couple, one that's 220 only, the other will do 110 or 220. $800-1200. Neither will go low enough to fit under a 914 without helpers, like the boards under the wheels in the previous pic. There are a few others that will just barely go flat enough (4.75" is the shortest I've seen).

They both weigh over a 1000lbs.

I have a PRO-6MR from Direct-Lift and I LOVE it!!! It is so perfect for working on a 914 or 911. I have even lifted my 1997 Range Rover HSE with it!

These lifts are not so good for a front-engined rear wheel drive car, but IDEAL for 914 and 911s.

Make sure you get the "truck adapters" with it. I never lift a 914 without those in place and some distributors charge extra for those.

I wouldnt work on anything without it. I could never go back.

Make sure you get a quote INCLUDING the shipping, because the shipping can be very expensive.

Here is one web site:
