I will be replacing the floor pans in my 75 soon and I was wondering if it is necessary to brace or put a bar to stiffen the car up? any tips or advice would also be appreciated. thanks

Yes.

More than likely you'll find more corrosion once you dig in, it's rare to find less. That said if you have to repair a section of the longitudinal, you'll need the reinforcement to keep it from moving
