Posted by: joea9146 Jun 15 2005, 07:31 PM

OK I give up.... I am trying to Route 2 12AN lines thtought the longitude and the heat tube and its not working. I got One line in and routed when I try the second line it just wont go. It goes abot 3 feet or so and than a dead end.... So I am thinkining I am going to route the second line down the ouside of the rocker up through the passenger fender and into the front trunk. Anyone have pictures of routing the oil lines inside the front fender well it looks tight in there when the wheels are close to full lock. Need pictures and good words.... mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

914.6GT actually runs them into the cabin and around the driver's side, entering the trunk under the pedal board. they used special brass tubes and fittings. but have a look at how 911's run front coolers and AC condensors for additional ideas.

Mine go down the side of the car under the rocker panels and then thru the fender well like the 911s....

Sorry...Manfred as in my other garage right now. What I used at the transistion was 45 angled fittings and then tacked them up in the well in the upper arch and then to 90s at the front to the cooler.

The dash 12 lines are a snug fit but can be routed through the right side heater box. It will help to get a piece of wire such as the coated stuff Home Depot sells (it's green) and run it in from underneath the car into the round hole. At the front of the box section there is a round opening and when the wire stops going in, look down the hole and you'll see the wire. Pull it out with a pair of needle nose pliers. On my 1973 there is an oval opening in the front bulkhead just below the dash and after you pull the oil lines through the side they can go through the oval opening. To do the second line, just repeat the steps above. Make sure to tape off the ends, don't use caps or have the fittings on as they will not go around the tight turn coming up from the side box area. Good luck

I looked and I did not have any pictures of the oil lines on the race car?? I the first picture above, if you can see the black section of air ducting just above where the grinder is, that is where I pull the line out from the box section. If you go with the external mount idea, please make sure there are no sections that hang below any of the body or sheetmetal since if you bottom the car out it could rip the lines loose.
