914World.com _ 914World Garage _ PCA AX rules help

Posted by: Marv's3.6six Jun 15 2005, 10:50 PM

With all the mods I'm doing to my teener I am concerned about the class I will be running. The car was PCA zone 8 class HI at about 35 points, now with all the changes she will be up in the mid 50's somewhere between 52 & 56. Thats going from an "Improved class" to a "Modified" or even "R class" I would assume an R class is considered an all out racer, tube frame, non streetable, sky's the limit car etc.

I am hoping for a TTOD capable car, BUT who or what normally races "modified or R" class? Should I tone it down for going for class wins or throw caution to the wind? huh.gif

What "*" said.

Are you using the calssification sheet Zone 8 provides? If you're still unsure have a tech inspector help classify you.

HMeeder is a tech guy for SDR.

In SDR this year, there was an average of 1 AR, 2 AM, 0 HI for sixes and 1 AI for fours. Go to http://group9motorsports.com/ and click the PCA link to sift through SDR standings.

Steve Grosekemper (Dieter's) runs AR. Ususally TTOD. 2.7 six. Big flares with schlicks.

Go for AM, and bump to AR with tires?

If things work out real good for me in the next few months, I could be in HI / AM.

Manfred is in HP....I used to run in HI with the 3.0 powered ROCKET. The Rock and I won the Zone 8 AX series in '99.

My 911 is HI as well....don't even wanna guess where Frank would get stuck...

huh.gif With all my dodads I'm at 55 points, without slicks! I guess what I am asking is there alot of peeps in zone 8 competing in AR? Who are they, besides Deiter?

Then my next question would be setup, who do you guys recommend for a top notch suspension setup and allignment? Preferably in Riverside or San Diego counties.

Front susp components: Hollow front torsens, PMS Delrin bushings, weltmeister adjustable sway, custom valved RSR struts with 19mm raised spindles, decambered elephant ball joints, monoballs, turbo tie rods, PMS bump steer kit, Brembo GTP lightweight brakes

Rear susp: body stiffener kit, beefed up inner susp mounts, boxed trailing arms, PMS delrin bushings, adjustable Konis, 190lb springs, PMS rear toe adjuster kit, Brembo GTPs

Thanx...Marvo

The SD website will give you all the race results in both AX and DE...in many cases the competitors have email links.

Go to the http://web2.pcasdr.org/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=1 and ask this same question. Many of the regulars there compete outside of SDR and will know.
