started as 914 4 , 2.0,,,ended up 2640,,,
everything was fine until valve retainer let go and ate a valve,,,
had pauter 1.4 roller rockers,,,one was chewed up
nobody seems to have anything but stock rockers
engine will run on stock rockers but really wants more llift and duration
where can i find high lift rockers ??
thanx
To me the T4 paulter rocker is junk, it doesn't have correct oiling IIRC. I know Jake was playing with them trying to make them work, don't know if he ever did.
Honestly the stock (modified) rocker works best, everything works correctly, never an issue,
I have similar 2.6L T4, 78X102mm, engine in my'67 bug. I use the stock modified rocker with real porsche adjusters and I use T1 dual springs, 163/86b web cam, ceramic lifters, CrMo retainers, hardened keepers and Manton pushrods.
it would be nice if somebody, somewhere made a decent rocker with a greater ratio.
and, Not to hijack, but are ceramic lifters available anywhere?
l’m making a 1.6 chromoly rocker for my 3.1S.
l have a few random Pauter rockers from sets that have had a rocker break. The self oiling Pauters were junk.
l broke 3 of them on Beth’s engine in 4 weeks. They can’t stand a roller cam at all!
wrong thread
what a surprise!!!!!!!!! jake , great to hear youre still here!!!!!!!
i still have a jake 2270 and 1911 and 2056 all ready to install dtms on !!
2270 has ceramics and i think i bought the last set a long long time ago.
so ,
the question now is :: where can you purchase a complete rocker assembly ,
ready to install and set geometry ??
everybody sells all the parts but who sells the complete assembly???
thanx
Nowhere.
You need to set geometry yourself for optimum performance.
As you get to better parts and more power, getting the right tolerance built in is more important.
Zach
probably not exactly what you want
