The Rainbow Bridge ( inspired by a Norse legend)

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Please accept my condolences. There are few bonds stronger than the one between a man and his dog. sad.gif

Your words mean more than ya know.

Rick, great shot of Henna! Thank you.

I'm more than happy, Henna left good memory for everyone who knew her.

She's....one of a kind.

Kevin,
I remember her as a puppy in training. Such a sweet dog and conmanion. Take care my friend. Our condolences.

Kevin,

Having lost 2 labs in a year, one who was very special as Henna sounds, leaves a gaping hole. One was a copilot that would brace herself in the passenger seat through the harriest curves and the other was my hiking, Mtn biking, errand running and shadow which also sounds like Henna. Your loss of your buddy and constant companion will only leave you with sweet memories after the pain subsides. Here’s to Henna.

As a fellow dog lover, I was saddened to read these news. One of the things I miss the most about my dog is the car rides the two of us would take together. Windows down, wind blowing, it was awesome.
My sympathy goes out to you.
Peace.

My sympathies go out to you. Pets are a tough loss. Looks like you had a great life together.

I remember that she was a very smart dog, Kevin. BTW, I know you were working on it but were you ever able to train Henna to roll you a joint? rolleyes.gif

So sorry. I think they are all better than us. We waited too long after our last dog passed away to get another. Don't make the same mistake. The new one will know what to do.
Just realized Henna was a service dog. Hopefully you can get a replacement quickly. I think Henna would like that.

Condolences from me and my girls- my 2 miniature wiener dog sisters. There is a very special bond between pets and us. I know you gave your Henna a great life and she loved every day of it. When the time is right I hope you find another forever dog and shower her with love too. Cheers to Henna.
