914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Could someone help identify this electronically plug please?

Posted by: Tdskip Oct 3 2018, 11:29 AM

Good morning. Small drops of water falling from the sky here, quite odd.

I was hoping someone could identify this electrical fitting for me. It's on the 1973 1.7 FI car.

Thanks!

Looks like the three-port D-jet fuel pump connector.

Ah ha!

Let me test it to see if it has power when it should be a ignition switch position.

Thanks!

Let me test it to see if it has power when it should be a ignition switch position.

It's powered through a relay on the relay board that is controlled by the FI brain.
So don't expect continuous voltage with the key on.

The FI brain will only power it to prime the pump and then shut it off until the engine actually starts.

You can temporarily bypass the FI brain just to test the circuit using the article below as a reference.
