914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Help identify this front valance

Posted by: nine11speedster Oct 4 2018, 08:22 AM

Teeners,

Can you help me identify this front valance? According to the search button, this is a LE front valance with a part number - seems to be a dealer item (not Porsche). Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
(See attached photos of the said valance)

They appeared in 1974 on the Limited Edition like this one.

There are many sources for a replica version. I got mine from Appearance and Performance, a member vender here. It's very well made (sturdy) compared to other versions I have seen:

not the same, actually the original limited edition was much different than the vw products spoiler PLUS all of those guys staring with Mitcom had a bad mold so a fitment problem

You have made a rare find. OE LE spoilers are a different animal than one one shown above. I took these from Jeff's site

The plastic VW products spoiler that you are asking about is in a different league than any aftermarket fiberglass copy. It is accurate and a no-fuss install.
The original item as supplied on the LE cars is the ultimate and the only one that is better.

From the 914 Porsche PET, part number matches those from 914Sixer post:

A "ZPW" part # indicates an aftermarket accessory part produced for Porsche-Audi distributors. So it is a semi-official part, but not a "factory original" part. There were also "ZVW" parts produced as aftermaket accessories for VW models. I believe these were all produced for the USA and possibly Canadian distributors.
