I need to remove two black mismatched window cranks and replace with some shiny chrome ones. How do I remove the existing cranks? TIA Rgds, Michael
Just pull on the plastic covering of the crank on the round part (not the turn knob), once unclipped, you should see a phillips screw, that's it.
If you peel back the plastic cover, you will see a phillips head screw. Just remove it and the crank will pull off.
If you are really anal, make sure the window is rolled up, and then when you reinstall the crank it should point forward and down at a 45 degree angle.
(I am picky about the angle of my crank )
If I remember correctly, they should be held in place with a screw. Just pry off the plastic cover.
Ha! I am way too slow!
If that fails, try a shot of adrenelin and a crowbar.
