914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Re-Surface Flywheel

Posted by: LukeD Jun 17 2005, 11:18 PM

I am going to replace my clutch with the superkit from PP while doing my top end rebuild smash.gif in the next few weeks.

Is it pretty much a no brainer chair.gif to have the flywheel re-surfaced? The clutch is working fine but the throw out bearing is starting to whine a bit, so i figure I might as well replace it all while i'm in there.

Thanks

Luke D

If it has enough for another cut. Many flywheels are already too thin. Get it resurfaced. As my machine shop would say, "Unless you like dropping your engine." wink.gif

agree.gif it's not that expensive(mine was abbout $40) and you'll probably see, when you get it off, that it needs it...
