914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Stearing bearing lube

Posted by: trojanhorsepower Nov 19 2018, 08:58 PM

So, i am about ready to reattach the stearing column, but i need to lube the shaft stablizing bearing, so what are your recommendations ? Grease, oil, weight?

Thanks All,
Peter

I use swepco 101 grease on just about everything.
On a bushing where I want a bit stickier/thinner I mix some 101 grease with a dab of blue STP or Lucas engine assembly lube.

I've used oil mixed with some blue STP in my oil can for years, great for anywhere you want oil that's a bit sticky. For T1/T4 engine assembly, lathe slides and anything you shoot with the oil can.

Just call Swepco, they'll put you on to the local rep. I know pelican carries it.
