The two holes beside the mounting bolt. Can't remember what if anything was there before I took them off and I seem to have a massive vacuum leak. What are these holes for anyway?

No, they're for 1.7 & 1.8 heads that use 4 mounting bolts

Always plug the first hole as many times that you can. The second one !!! Well that’s really not your call...........
