914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Tire advice on stock 73 lowered grocery getter

Posted by: yellowporky Dec 8 2018, 03:24 PM

I was wondering what tires people are running on a stock car that has been lowered.
I have Padrini wheels that have 205/60/15 Fulda tires from 1984. The size works with the car.
Anyone have any input it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

195x65 or 205x60 work really well on a narrow body car with alloy wheels. Just see what your favorite tire store has in that size and rear some reviews. The good thing is the tires should be around $75 in that size.

Yokohama S Drive 205x50 15's which work great with the car at the lowest stock setting. These are described as Summer Tires and are directional performance tires.

I really like 185/60-15's on the stock 5.5 wide alloys.

I've been running 205x65x15" Michelin Pilot Exaltos on my stock 5.5 rims which exactly match original diameter for speedometer accuracy

Why is your car lowered for everyday driving? 195x65x15, tall enough for dips and low curbs.

Thanks for all of the input.
As far as being lowered, I like the looks and feel of it being lowered.
Not concerned about road hazards as I am well trained from driving my 911
