You don’t have to stay 3 nights to get the rate (more on that later). The HI is in the same area as the Hampton we stayed at in 2012 and is a brand new property just opened in September 2018.
The plan for Friday (4/12) is to depart for Oatman/Kingman by 10AM so an Option is to drive to Havasu on Friday morning (i.e. don’t stay at hotel on April 11th) and still make the twisties.
Be sure to make your hotel reservations before March 11th when the room block expires. You can reserve your rooms by calling the hotel directly (928-733-6388). The group name is “PCR”. Or use this https://www.hiexpress.com/redirect?path=hd&brandCode=EX&localeCode=en®ionCode=1&hotelCode=IGMHV&_PMID=99801505&GPC=PCR&viewfullsite=true click on Book Now, enter the dates and the correct rates will display.

Anyone want to step up and help with T-shirts, vendor swag, and awards that will be great...otherwise this will be drinking, eating, camaraderie & driving event (not necessarily in that order).
Anyone who is familiar with the roads on the CA side of the Parker Dam and wants to plan a route for Saturday that will be helpful. We drove those roads in 2012 but I can't remember where we went. I'll plan the Friday drive to Oatman/Kingman and promise to bring enough maps for everyone unlike in 2018.
In for 2.
I'm in.
I'll be there
Most likely in!
Sound like a good RTE 66.... I plan to attend
I'm IN...

OOOOPS: Change of plans due to conflict. Will be unable to make it. BUMMER.
Wish I could make it . Kid's 18th Bday and our anniversary that weekend. Have fun!
See post #1 for updated hotel info and attendees list
I really need to get back on this site more often...
If I can get my idle fixed i'll damn sure take this run!
75% sure I'll be able to attend. PCA Treffen in Santa Barbara is the weekend before Route 66, as long as I get signed up for Treffen I'll also attend Rte 66. I'll know for sure on the 16th.
As long as the car is sorted out by then I am in for 2.
Post #1 updated with link to hotel reservations
Bump. Reservations made
I made my hotel reservation.
See you there!
Booked!
Reservations made
John always comes up with great shirts. As a matter of fact I'm wearing one now!
Room booked for Fri and Sat nights
great photo !!!!
I'm probably in but I'll still be bootin' my Subie....
Spoke to Keith today and this sounds like a much needed escape for the projects underway in AZ. Drove the 914 today for an hour or so and all is good to go - and I have noticed that if I let it sit for more than a week, it is quite hesitant to start. Solution: Drive it.
On the trip, I'm in. It will be good to see this dysfunctional symbiotic team yet again.

Room booked....
Was hoping to make it but my daughter graduates with her nursing degree & walks on the 12th. That & a chance to see my grandbaby to boot. I won't be making it to Route 66. Barring some crazy flight down to catch the 2nd half anyway. Which I don't see happening. Would have been great to finally be out there with my car. Which is supposed to be done. Of course it was supposed to be done last summer
Bump...plus updated attendee list in Post #1
Just 5 more weeks before the room block is released to the general public. Get your reservations, you can always cancel later if your plans go south. Hotel just told me only 5 rooms are booked.
Bumpty!
ADMINS .. can we get a highlight on this event?
Is there a tentative schedule so we can see if we can fit in somewhere? We could probably trailer car down on Friday, and return to Vegas Saturday evening. Thanks,
^^ #MeToo Looking like a handful of cars coming in from Vegas Friday morning. We'd like to do a group breakfast before the 2.5 hr drive, plus unload a trailer or 2.
If the 2hr, lunch, 2 hr drive is the only thing planned that day... no reason to rush.
9:14 is the appointed time. It's just that we never get it together before 10:00.
Monday
If anyone knows a good driving route for Sat please let me know. I’m thinking across the Parker Dam on the CA side. Thanks
Ok here’s what I’m thinking for Saturday’s drive. Total route is 107 miles and should include a mix of twisties and scenery. We will be back in Lake Havasu just after lunch to allow time to enjoy Lake Havasu and/or BS’ing in the parking lot. I know the road to Black Meadows Landing is paved but I’m not sure about the road to copper basin. I will try to drive the route before April. Either way we can just skip Copper Basin if the road is dirt. There is also a restaurant at Black Meadows Landing if we want to eat there.
From Lake Havasu:
South on Rt 95 to Parker Dam Rd and photo stop near the Dam
Rt onto Mwd Rd to Black Meadow Rd to Black Meadows Landing
Back on Black Meadow Rd to Copper Basin Reservoir
Continue to Parker Dam Rd to Parker for lunch stop
Return to Lake Havasu after lunch
41 days left
Booked!
I've signed up for a double just in case some CSOB like myself wants to save some cash...
I'll also be looking for a passenger seat as usual. Yes - the car is coming along slowly but surely.
Booked FRI and SAT nights. I don't think I can get there for the Friday drive, bumma! I should be there for parking lot shenanigans.
5 weeks and counting.
Final Warning. Only a few days left to get your order in for an event shirt. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=336196
Chit, I forgetted. Uno extra largo, Señior. Anyone got an idea how we can get this thread highlighted? I've sent 2 requests to an admin! I could try making a Poitical comment to draw Clay's attention to this thread.
4 weeks to get your car ready...
The Shirt Order Thread is Closed. This is the final art.

3 weeks
Thanks for the new grey hairs man
Spent all weekend on the car still haven't found the no spark/squirt problem. In the process of documenting every element of the conversion harness so I can redo the redo
Countdown 18 days....
Time to get the "Mother's" out this weekend & polish those wheels.
I haven’t seen my car for a month. Need to visit my SIL and bring it home. But hey, it ran when parked!
OKAY!!!!
I'm set, making my final arrangements to attend.
Looking forward to meeting up with you all again.
@http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=17813 I've got a car waiting for you.
Oscar
My trip to Texas this past weekend in the Bumblebee has put my attendance in question due to a starter issue...only have four days to sort that out.
Jump that thing Steve and come on out. We'll fix it in the parking lot 914 Style.
My co-pilot bailed on me so I'm looking for someone to split the room with.
I didn’t get a chance to predrive the Saturday route and so I’m planning to drive it Thursday late morning on my way to Lake Havasu. Let me know if you want to meet in Parker around 10AM and come along.
Countdown = 13 days
I'm heading west tomorrow morning...plan on arriving Santa Barbara Wed morning
So far knocking on whatever wood I can find has worked. Kingman, AZ tonight & Santa Barbara tomorrow afternoon. Frozen car two mornings in a row wasn't fun though.
Wow Steve....you've got us all beat on SEAT TIME!!!
Oscar
Steve, hope you're having a good drive. If you're going I40 to Cali, remember to stop at Topac for a BLT, on the way. About 7 miles west of SH95, (the turn-off to Lake Havasu City), on the west bound side. If not you can always stop on the way back to LHC. Just a thought, one of my favorite places to stop while in the area. Have a good time. Jon
The Saturday drive route seems a little unsorted. Having used Black Meadow Landing as a hideout camp and departure for many a SeeDoo excursion in decades past, I can tell you the road sucks and the route has many turns and twists that, if a boat trailer gets in the mix, the fun is over. 14 mph for miles of unseen drunks on the road in every direction.
Just a thought / always have two ways out at all times - and preferably cell connection / BML has none of that AAA backup. That road is one way in and one way out.
jBut, I will go anywhere.
just a thought....

And hopefully a certain somebody won't need to fill up 15 min's into the drive.
I will not make it this time, I have to head up to WA to pickup a GTO to bring back to AZ. I will be driving through on Sunday if anyone is still around.
2006 6.0 liter with a manual. It's my dad's car and he is freeing up some garage space.
Part 1 of trip in the books. Arrived Santa Barbara 3pm. Having a drink or three at the reception party.
Way to go Steve. Wring it out!
ONE WEEK!
I made reservations for dinner on Saturday at 6. Javelina Cafe 1420 N McCulloch Blvd. We’ll order off the menu please bring cash if you can to make payment easier. See you in a week
Well that's that.
Sorta good that I have a system.
The oil lite didn't want to turn off.
Drop the filter... no flow.
Reason... unknown at this moment, but with all the cranking I've been doing it would be a miracle if the bearings weren't damaged.
Now I need to decide how much I want to spend to get the bastard to WCR in 2 months. I will not be renting a Fiat
Countdown = 6 days
Hey Oscar: are you towing your car for this event? If so can you throw the seats and rails in the pickup bed and i will pay for your gas - both ways....
if not, no worries / i may return to California someday and sort it out then....
Is it too late to join in on the fun? I am thinking of flying in to Las Vegas and driving down to join for the weekend.
I have a double room booked.
Trying to get my car back together.
I will know by Sunday night if I am going to make it.
Don
I'll be in Dallas on a project.
Fantastic. This is turning into a serious caravan.
We are meeting at the IHOP across from Sam's Town Casino. Breakfast at 6:30. Departure at 7am.
Now I'm starting to feel lame for not having a real 914
Can somebody grab my size large shirt for the event from John?
I'm good for the money......
Driving the WCR routes yesterday and today...will hit Las Vegas Wed afternoon
OC / IE / SD Caravan (15 North)
Bringing my P Hauler just in case of any breakdowns.
How about meeting up Thurs at 11am or 12pm????

The only other mechanic in my 'hood is also a car dealer so I don't trust him
This would be a good time to finally let me drive your subie 6
I'll be looking for passenger seats for the runs
Booked everything today. I will get in Thursday night and scored a room for $47 with tax st Sam's casino so I will be across the street from the meeting place for Friday morning.
Sounds like Ian Karr may be coming out to join us with JP from Vegas.
Mikey will be bringing out some swag for everyone from Gaden Porsche and Derfaszination
See you guys this weekend
Got it, see you there
California drives done, headed to Las Vegas in the morning.
I'm out.
My wife recently had surgery, and with the time spent on her rehabilitation and other family and work needs, I didn't get my car back together in time.
Have fun and be safe.
Hope to see you all at the WCR
Don
Thanks Kent.
Have fun
I see that some will possibly be driving from southern Cali to Vegas later this week. I'm looking to get a 901 transmission from Anaheim to Vegas, and think Greyhound will want approx. $100 to transport it.
I'll be happy to give someone the $100 to pick it up in Anaheim and haul it to Vegas.
Anyone near Anaheim?
Thanks,
Jim
^^ I'll be in the PartsFinder, so if it gets to Havasu I can get it to Vegas if that helps....
I'm also picking up some goodies from Jim @http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=643
I spy. I see that the "Parts Hauler" secretly wishes it was a 914!
...Toast is the host with the most!

+2 From Las Vegas
Thanks everyone.
Thanks Michael for organizing this event.
I hope you all have a great time.
Don
Enjoy and be safe teeners!
Made it to Lake Havasu at noon. Speedo cable broke a mile before the hotel
FYI - For those of you SoCal Teeners unable to make Rte-66 this weekend ....
You might want to come out for the PCA Concours on Saturday in Santa Clarita to show off your 914, or just to visit & see some nice P-cars near Tragic Mountain Bemusement Park!

Don-6 - How about some 1/2 day sanity time there?
You made me think of posting here for the left-outs!
For those going - safe travels & have fun!
Cheers!
Tom

Wish I could have made. My car wasn't ready anyway. MY Daughter also graduates with her BS in nursing today. I had hopes if my car was ready of maybe catching a late flight to Vegas tonight to join you all tomorrow. Wasn't meant to be. Although I am working hard here

I made it home OK. Jason followed me to Phoenix while we both tried to figure out why Forrest pulls into rest stops and doesn’t stop! Maybe I don’t want to know. Anyway it was great meeting Ian and Mikey, seeing old friends and my
Big thanks to Matt from 914Rubber, Mikey from Der Faszination and Oscar for the goodies. I won’t make WCR but plan to be at Okteenerfest. This photo sums up the weekend, Route 66 and oil stains (except for 1 of us because I know Suby engines are perfect and don’t leak oil).
Cheers
Same here...arrived home safe an hour ago. Drove back in a mini caravan with Keith and Kent. Stopped at a rest stop were we met up with a tourist group from Paris...my french isn't very good but I showed them some photos of our event.
Until next time....
Oscar
Made good time going back to Scottsdale and enjoyed following and sorta leading with a couple of other 914s on the open road. Great photo opps for painting studies for future desert oils from a pull off or two....... lost the crew at the second one however,........ ............now you know...

Returned yesterday afternoon. There were no breakdowns, 1 speeding ticket, and 3 recorded hangovers. It's always a great time being with friends and 914's. Matt and Ian will be posting some cool vid's in the near future! While Oscar was being assaulted by the French from the south I was furiously fending questions on the north side of the rest stop. This particular stop was called by Keith. Using the universal signal for "I'm about to wet myself" he roars around me and begins to weave about anyone that wasn't going 88mph. After arriving at and shutting down, Keith had vanished. As I was locking up a lady came to say that Keith had left his driving lights on and that she and her husband had met and dated in one. Another lady cleaning the grounds asked what year mine was and went on to say that a guy who owned a 914 once asked her out and she had agreed. She cancelled the date when she found out he'd sold the car day's before their date. What a character! Another said he had one in high school and on and on. Yes, Oscar outdrew Keith and I but rightfully so. His car is stunning.
Great job Michael! Thank you for all the effort you put into this event that we all got to enjoy. I enjoyed myself immensely as did my guest.
Arrived home just before noon...had a great time. Just over 6000 miles for two week+ trip to CA & AZ. Thanks Michael for organizing.
