Anyone have recent experience with B & B fitment / heat. They would be going on a stock 1970 six.
also what muffler works best.

Thanks
JC

Hi and welcome.png

I can't see any reason to go with the B&B units, which many have commented on re quality and fitment. Ben, http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=302077 makes the perfect heat exchangers/headers for our cars. I bought his complete system for my '71 Six with a 3.2. beerchug.gif

Yes a complete joke.. I am reworking a set for a customer right now so they will fit. Sold a set of my heat exchangers to a member last week because his b&b wouldn't throw enough heat even in so cal..

Stick with dansk or mine .. A stock 2 in1 out works great.. I also make something similar to that out of stainless. www.914-6werkshop.com..

Get a set from Ben. You’ll be happy

B&B’s suck. They always have.

I turned down a deal on almost new B&B's. wink.gif

Appreciate then info. I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger on the B & B's.

They look awesome, but fit poorly, if at all. The heater boxes are too small.

Dansk if you’re building a Concours car, or Ben’s if you want beautiful stainless heat exchangers or are running a larger engine.

Original 40k mile Six w/stock engine. I'm going to have to give Ben a call. Sounds like the best option. Thanks again for feedback.

Stock 2.0 engine with no upgrade plans I'd likely go with dansk because they're basically OE stock, Ben's for any other /6 engine.

I bought a set of B&B for my Boxster. Supposed to be CARB #’d. Not only were they not CARB#’d, they didn’t have O2 sensor bungs and on a Boxster, you need 4. Figured I’d add the bungs but when I went to mock them up, they didn’t even fit.

Severe quality and design issues. Are they still around?

I think they are still around. Not only do they not heat well ( if at all) but they don’t fit the exhaust flanges. They are a crappy product that is only around because until recently, they were the only one around.

Just a note so we are clear I make both 1.5"( stock sizing) and 1.625 for larger engines.

I purchased one of Ben’s first sets. Very pleased. I recently purchased a second set for a 3.4 build.

+1 for Bens

If you need it to look like a factory six for a concourse, I would go with Dansk factory replicas. I ran the factory heat exchangers on my 3.2. Great heat, but too small for a 3.2. I switched to Ben's 1 5/8" heat exchangers. Same great heat, but noticeable power difference, due to the larger ID.
