I was looking for vacuum leaks and thought it may be time to check the AAR Valve "just because". Pretty sure my leaks are due to old hoses; they're original to the car! Having a hard time giving up the "red" ones.
Anyone, here's the test using a 12V source.
1-open, 2-closing, 3-nearly there, 4-shut

Last photo is after I thoroughly cleaned the passage. WD40 did a nice job as well.
I misplaced my CAIG DeoxIT D5S-6 Spray, Contact Cleaner / Rejuvenator, 5 oz.. Musician friend and long time 914'r swears by it. Maybe next time.
