914World.com _ 914World Garage _ source for targa latch spring

Posted by: 914 RZ-1 Feb 15 2019, 08:57 PM

I'm missing a spring for the rear targa latches. It's the one that go on the latches on the rear targa pad that secure the back of the top to the car.

Is this a spacial part, or are these available at hardware stores?

There is no part number in the PET.

I don't think it is anything special. If you have one, you could probably find a close match at Ace Hardware.

I buy 12 inch lenghts of coil spring material and hand make them. I can get you a small lenght to make your own. I did not find an exact match but use spring material from McMaster Carr that is close and works well. I have not seen the springs in the Wurth assortment that George mentioned.
