I’m getting close to installing my rear hub bearings, and noticed these are made in China. Does anyone have any experience with these? And if these are not quality bearings what should I go with? The old ones are SKF. Not sure if these are original.

Thanks in advance,

Bearings are not what they used to be. In days past, bearings only came in one grade. Now it seems they come in good, better, best. My experience is to find some old German, French or Canadian bearings by FAG OR SKF. Look a my post about the differences in the bearing thickness earlier this month. You will see what I am talking about.

I've had good experience with Made in Japan bearings like NTN.

When I sold skateboard bearings at the bike shop, we had Japan, German & Swiss. Good, better best. The Swiss were super smooth.

Thanks, I think I’ll send these back and get at least SKF or better. Seems like the right thing to do after going through all of this effort.

Cheers,
John
