Verrrry interesting - Arty johnson in German WW2 military helmet
really neat! Did not even know about it, great advertisement for the 914. So many of those guys have passed away now, and to see them in their prime is quite nostalgic
That was really fun.....thank you very much. "No tranny and no clutch.." Gee....I wonder how that happened??
gg
Fun stuff!
I have a better quality version of that on my web site.

Also a poster from the event and a few other related things.
Here is a little more info about this event and something about what happened to the cars afterwards...

I do remember it and I was one of the driver trainers for the celebs. I spent time with Dick Smothers and a couple of others. I remember that Bob Bondurant was very excited to be spending time with Paul Newman.
This was when 914-6’s were not selling and this was a way to get exposure for them. I think there was about 20 cars in the event of about 12 celeb drivers. After the event, the cars were sold to PA Dealers for about $4,000. If I remember right, I bought a couple. A few months later I bought the remaining new Tangerine units, about 8.
I also bought a damaged unit with heavy front end damage, for less than $3000. It was dark BRG and I had it repaired and painted black including a smoothed black top. .
I have always thought there was two main reasons the 914-6 didn’t sell. First, they looked exactly like the 914. Second, they were geared way too high.
Thanks for asking about these fun cars.
AJ
Thanks Alan for sharing, love your web site. Best, Mark
I have seen it before but always enjoy watching it.
It was great to see the stars have a great time.
Ravi, your right. I don't think actors have that much fun anymore. That is the best part.
Nice job finding this...
Great video clip
Back when celebrities weren't such dick-holes ...
