914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Wanna see Scott Thatcher's

Posted by: Joe Ricard Jun 22 2005, 08:51 PM

After the WCC Scott stopped by really needing a transaxle. So we swapped in my best one and sent him on his way. He made home so that was good.

Anyway took the troubled unit apart yesterday.
Stole the ZD gear to put in place of my 3rd.

so its not that bad huh

the syncro pic is fizzy but the syncro looks okay, not new but not bad, try some in focus pics of the syncros. you did ride in the car before hand and it shifted good, it was just a little noisey

The synchro is slick as a baby's butt. donno how that is good. No worries I only stole ZD 5th and the side shift bits. Last pic was really bad. Showed the knarled up brass bushing that reverse and them needle bearing rode/ground on.

Got the new synchros put on all the gears last night just waiting for the seal kit and shift fork alignment tool.
