914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Aligning head light bucket assembly

Posted by: drem914 Mar 21 2019, 04:03 PM

Is there an adjustment on the headlight bucket assembly to allow it to open further or close more? When the lights are down driver side does not fully drop (1/2" shy) to align with the hood and the bumper? When drivers side is open it does not fully raise by about 1/2." This makes it very hard to align the headlights. How do I adjust the over all assembly or the control of the motor to the bucket. Passenger side light seems to be fine for both closing and opeing full cycle. It just seems the drivers side is not fully completing the cycle.

Is the fixture hitting the adj screw stop on the rear of the bucket?

I can't tell at the moment until I open it up and from what I can tell I just need to adjust the spindle connection.

Yes, It is keeping the bucket from opening fully.

I now see how the set screw works. Thanks. One more adjustment and it should cycle fully. First attempt removed most of the offset. Need do go just a bit more.
Thanks,
