I am just passing on the information. They take apart and clean gauge. Please NOTE this is for SERVICE ONLY. $75
I've relied on this local VDO instrument shop since 1975, for all of my gauge purchases, servicing, and speedo calibrations. They even did the Vanagon tach rewiring for my 3.2L 6 cylinder conversion kits.
I had my gauges done there as well. After they got them, I got a call asking what the red line should be on the tach. I called the engine builder (FAT Performance) and asked Ron what the red line should be on my engine. He said, "hell, I don't know". I called NHS back and said to set the red line at 8000rpm. They told me the gauge only goes to 8000 to they would make it at 7800. So now I have this implausible 7800rpm redline on my tach.
