914World.com _ 914World Garage _ What's this tool for

I bought this as part of a GB on this site thinking some day I'd be glad I had it if I ever did front suspension work.

I just finished taking everything apart except for the steering rack and tie rods. Is that what its for; if so what application?

It's a inner tie rod tool. One end if for the factory rod end the other which should be 32 mm is for the turbo tie rods.

Ok. so I guess I should have removed the boot to see that the washer is notched for the tool as I discovered today.

So I worked on both tie rod ends today and couldn't get either one loose. Will I break something in the steering rack if I turn too hard? Any suggestion on how to get the tie rod ends loose from the steering rack?

Steering rack is still in the car. In difficult situations like this is it advised to remove the rack?

I assume its a right hand thread.
