I am not complaining because I don’t like to give money to the government but I just got my tag registration renewal notice.
My annual ad valorem tax on my 914 is only 78 cents!
Should I tell them my teener is worth more? Naaaa...I think I just keep my secret, Well a....secret!

Have Antique tags on my Teener - one time fee, no annual fees, no annual inspections, small property tax as value of car is very low....

Yes, one of the few advantages of living in PA. Annual Property tax on cars? That would suck.

Just a reminder that the founders of this country fought a war over less taxation than we have now.
Be glad that they haven't caught onto your 914's yet.
The day is coming that they will begin to try to phase Gasoline vehicles off the roads with sky high taxation in favor of Electrics. 
Be happy for what you have now. Drive while you can.

This is the only way to fly. I found a set of vintage '73 tags and Alabama let me activate them for like 12 bucks. No taxes, no renewals.

In Massachusetts, you pay to register vehicles and then
have to renew them every couple of years.. Personalized plates
Cost extra. And yearly inspections are 35.00 ..
Then there is the Yearly Excise Tax on every vehicle..
That is based on the MSRP of your vehicle and decreases yearly till
it Gets To 10% of the MSRP and stays there forever..
The tax is 25.00 per 1000.00 of value accessed.
So my 914 is still valued at 550.00 and the 1990 Vette
Is valued at 6000.00 and they will never go any lower.
How’s that sound..??

Connecticut: anything 20 years or older is assessed at $500. You pay your local mill rate against that.
914s' annual property taxes are $16 each.

Sounds like you don’t really own your cars on the east coast. You simply rent them. Otherwise the Govt says you owe taxes on them and can take a lien or repossess? Do I understand that correctly?

exists, so no tax.. I’m sure they would charge penalties and interest
on unpaid taxes and could I suppose revoke your registration..

Don’t even get me started on the Sales Tax.
They don’t call this Taxachusetts for nothing...

We all drive on paved roads, send our kids to schools, rely on cops,firefighters and EMTs, like clear water coming out of our taps, appreciate things going away when we flush, etc...and gripe about taxes. It's the American way!

I don't have the power to edit but the part of the casuses of the American Revolution was "taxation without representation".
Congress has the power of taxation in Article 1 of the Constitution Section 8.
They furthered that power to income in the 16th amendment.
As I remember.
