Could someone please post a perfect hellhole pic?
Hi Rich
1975, repaired. To be fair to the car, it only needed a battery tray and a engine gasket mount section, close to the battery.

Here's mine, as seen from above...
It may not qualify as 'perfect' but here's my 914-6 before engine going back in (very hard to capture this area once the car is batteried up and assembled.)
The little dots and wire are for the fuel pump. I just had them hanging there prior to reinstalling pump.
Im guessing there are way more that look like hell
I once seen a battery tray with built in kitty litter no b.s
I would call that heaven NOT hell!!!!!

Didn't always look that way:

As far as I can tell this hell hole is all original complete with battery tray. Still has the drain hole. Sorry for the dusty condition this was taken during assembly. It's what you except to find with an Arizona car taken to Ohio and sets in barn for the next 23 years. Original seam sealer too.

Before shot..
In progress
Done.. (Arrow showing drain hole) (hole already starting to collect dust, nuts, bolts and crap, as it is supposed to beeing a black hole..).

Mine all original, only a little surface rust, removed battery tray for rear trunk install. Mark
My 6 number 41 had a perfect area by the battery try when I got it. A 1970 car only driven till 1985 then garaged in So CA till we started to restore it. The battery tray had a little roughness to it and I welded a new tray top on just to be perfect (I still have the original one that can be used for someone that does not want a 100% perfect but this car is 100%)

Before restoration no holes. As it sat when I got it in 2007 with Brown paint on body but it had green paint under the body in Eng. Area. I personally removed all the paint the slow way. 1970 Cannery yellow factory color

Another 1970 Canary yellow, but this is a /4. Build date Jan. 1970

These two shots are from the garage find 1970 4 cylinders that I saved from the crusher 18 months ago. The body really was in good shape for its age. It was garaged from 1985 on till I bought it. Greg bought it and is building a 6 from it. No rust in the longs and even though there was a big hole that you can see to the back of the Eng. compartment the area under the battery look OK. The PO of this car made a battery tray out of wood. This was a 6/70 car. Also in Cannery yellow
