I need to have my Marchal (w/external regulator) alternator rebuilt but was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on replacing with another alt? What are to benefits and drawbacks? Can any auto-electric shop (usually) rebuild these? OH, almost forgot, 2.7L flat six...'77.
