914World.com _ 914World Garage _ GB closes the 15th - Tis the season Lots of shifting issues popping up it’s ON

Posted by: Mikey914 Oct 28 2019, 10:55 AM

With the rash of shifting issues popping up doing a GB so you can inexpensively replace all the bushings in one shot even the cover and correct band to keep the crud out.

You will get the 1 cup bushing ( one at the transmission)
the bushing at the firewall
the knuckle bushing (yes set of 2)
the transmission guide bushing
the rubber sleeve for the rod at the transmission

Option for new cover ... at $8
option for new cover band and hardware at $9
Maybe even a few other options biggrin.gif
You know me ..while you are there.

Really need 20 takers to make this worthwhile and run with it.

These are in stock, so no problem with the parts.

Posted by: jtprettyman Oct 29 2019, 07:06 AM

I'm in - GB on this is great, should consider adding this package as a standard catalog item, very convenient to get everything on one shot.

Posted by: injunmort Oct 29 2019, 07:12 AM

I am in for all, bushings, covers, hardware, no shifter knob. also need new cone screws. thank you.

Posted by: gandalf_025 Oct 29 2019, 07:47 AM

How about for a tail shifter....????

Posted by: SteveL Oct 29 2019, 09:44 AM

I'm in. Adding new cone screws sounds like it would be a good option!

Posted by: Specracer Oct 29 2019, 06:53 PM

As usual, a GB hits, but I already bought most of these pieces (all of the bushings). They all worked out perfect. Buy with confidence (duh).

Posted by: Tbrown4x4 Oct 30 2019, 06:35 AM

Don't need them yet, but put me down for 1 kit to keep the group buy going.

Posted by: pt_700 Oct 30 2019, 12:18 PM

i'm down for a set for an early body with sideshift trans.

Actually working on this now I have 3 new parts to make but yes will be much less expensive.

Hello Mikey......Thank you for your help and my kit will arrive soon. Please confirm there is a bushing under the shift lever and what is it called? Is it included in the kit? And what exactly is the firewall bushing? The round rubber bushing in the firewall that the interior shift shaft goes through? Simple questions but I don't know this stuff for sure. thank you very much!

If the tail shift option is available here,
I’m in and I’m in NO HURRY to get it..
If it takes you time to make some pieces,
I’d be glad to wait...
Just let me know if I should sign up here
and now or wait for a specific Tail Shift
Buy....
Thanks for all you do....

The early cars use a cup bushing in the shift rod (the one the shift knob is on). I may have added some confusion as I had just done my 72 and was thinking early when I initially put this out there. Late side shift would not require the 2nd cup bushing.

The firewall one is at the bulkhead and is under the rubber bellows. I’m working on having an option to add the cone screws for those that need / want them.

I plan to open this up Monday with another GB that you can combine if you so choose. Another inexpensive part many folks are missing.
Thanks all just need a few more takers.

Thanks,
Mark

Did I miss cost of a complete kit inclusive of all options including shift knob?

I'm in as long a the shift knob isn't priced crazy.

Posted by: Tdskip Nov 1 2019, 07:30 AM

Interested and would like to take part/support you but I’m also confused as to what comes in the kit and at what cost.

Maybe group all of the bushings together with a clear price and then make add-ons optional with a price per item?

Thanks!

Posted by: cn2800 Nov 1 2019, 08:13 AM

Go ahead and put me down for one with all the options.

This is the GB advertised

It’s everything needed to replace all the side shift bushings.
You will get the 1 cup bushing ( one at the transmission)
the bushing at the firewall
the knuckle bushing (yes set of 2)
the transmission guide bushing
the rubber sleeve for the rod at the transmission

There will be options for covers, bands and even a limited number of the special shift knobs I make., or perhaps the shift knob should be stand alone.
We are doing more up know.

I’ll be sending PMs out Monday it’s on thanks all

I just installed this kit in my car and not only did I get 4th and 5th back, the entire linkage is way nicer. I am buying a back up kit for safe keeping. The rear bellows part is incredible, and the knuckle bushings are a breeze. I am not promoting anything but where would my car be without these great guys? Half my car is 914 Rubber parts. Jus' sayin'.
