Hi all.. I am trying to verify that the pair of green Bilstein front struts I have were indeed offered as optional equipment for the 914 (probably the '73-'74 2.0 models).
If anyone has a 914 with this option, please respond.
Also, it would be very helpful to see a pic of it on the 914 ( pull a front wheel ? ),
showing the 914 part number.
TIA... Terry
here some info;

based on that info if factory installed installed bils will have the PN stamped in the tube... replacements have a sticker...
Does any other World member have the green Bilstein front struts ?
Or am I the lone ranger?
I have a set it the warehouse. Running 914-6 brakes.
I think you guys are talking about two different things. Bills for 4 & 6 are different.
I have a '74 2.0 barn find that was put away in '84 with 22K miles
It has green shocks/struts
CTC911CTC
I have a couple sets of the front 914 Bils struts available FS.
According to 914 Tech Tips 700 by G. Hussey: 1st edition I think :
237. (page 44) ALL 914 front strut inserts will interchange with the '69-'84
911 insert types.
367 (page 66 ) The best 914 to buy, besides a 6-cylinder, is a '73-'74 914 2.0
with the BILSTEIN suspension package & front and rear anti-sway bars.
My main problem with identification of the ones I have comes from a previous owner
marking out the numbers on the Bilstein USA sticker on both struts. I believe this may have been the 914 #.
So you want new inserts for your 914 Bil. Struts ??
Were these ON a car? Throw a front disc on the spindle if it fits you know its the /4 ver.
