Setting timing today, and have used the angle iron bar on the rear wheel to hold that side while I rotated the other wheel. But occasionally if you have to back up a few degrees the bar would lift off the ground. This time I zip-tied a dumbbell to the bar and it held it in place easily.

And rather than bending over the fender with a mirror, harder when up on the lift. I used this wifi Endoscope with a magnetic tool mount. It was REALLY easy to watch on the phone and rotate the engine until the 0 was lined up with the notch.

This was the view from the endoscope. It has a built in adjustable light. I may have to try this again next time I set the ignition timing. then I would just have to shine the timing light into the hole and watch on the phone. idea.gif

It comes in handy in other ways like feeding down the tunnel to make sure the clutch/throttle cables are not crossed.

very nice, but what part of you was bruised or strained? Seems like something is missing.

Not sure that this would work with a timing light. Maybe? Is there a flicker rate with the endoscope? Would be cool to try it and see. I know taking video with my phone at 32fps you miss a LOT if you are trying to capture really fast things.
