Teeners!
I redid all of the pushrod tubes and the valve covers (did the oil cooler gaskets earlier - with the Engine In!!!).
Of the pushrod tubes all seem tight with the exception of Cyl 1 Exhaust!. UGH
The others seem pretty tight - ran the car for 15 min at 30-40 mph prior to inspecting.
Some of the others:
Question is what do you do if there is a leaky tube? I will replace the tube (i have a few new ones) with new vitron gaskets, however, should I get out the RTV?????
Thanks!
Should start a thread called: What dis you do TWICE today to your 914?

I think the old advice from J. Raby was to use Loctite 565 on the O-rings.
That's what I did, but don't know if that's still the most current recommendation.
you pinched the rubber, I can see it.
There was a time that when we ordered the seal kit, the inners were the wrong dimension and it never did get resolved.
Then you would have to order the correct inners separately.
Not sure if that is still the case.
You id pinch it, and using vaseline when installing them helps, plus twisting as you push them in.
Thanks!
I will remove and report as to the pinch, might get some Gorilla Snot to assist in the seal!
I never use sealant, and some use RTV.
All up to you.
I know it takes patience to get them in right, and lube, and twisting.
given your signature, you have it bad sir!
been playing with them since what....1972?
Good for you.
Feel free to reach out if you need things, I may have them.
