914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Hollow vs rolled crush washer

Wondering if anybody has an opinion on using a solid M6 copper crush washer in lieu of the hollow one from the kit for the oil temp sender plate. Does it make a difference or will the solid one over torque the boss to get a crush?

Does the same hold true for the oil screen plate?

Would a sealing washer (the metal/rubber ones found on modern cars) be better?

The late Cap'n Krusty ( John Larson) said the original washers were copper and asbestos.
I would go with the hollow ones. What kit is it you have?
The center plate uses a single center bolt with low torque. I think it uses an aluminum crush washer. I prefer aluminum as it is softer than copper.
