914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Horn Slip Ring - no longer in stock

Posted by: frostyf May 19 2020, 11:57 AM

Hi, wondered if anyone knows about compatibility for the different horn cancellation rings.

I think mine needs changing - looked up the part on the OEM diagrams and its listed as :
# 91434709900

Couldn't see them available any more on Pelican or AA. AA have an alternate numbered part # 113415660A and their page says Fitment: 924 76-85 944 82-85.

Does anyone know if this matches the VW part #113415660A
which fits: Type 3 (Squareback/Fastback); 1971-1979 Karmann Ghia; 1971-1974 Type 4 (411/412) 1971-1974

Has anyone fitted one of these newer replacement slip rings and did it fit okay to a 914?

Thanks in advance!

A general question about VW/914 parts compatibility. I recently was looking through a JBugs catalog that was included with my wheel spacers, and there are several parts listed for 914/VW applications. Do any of you know whether some general parts like switches, etc. might be the same as the Porsche OEM equivalents?

I used 113 415 600 A
however the part molded into the part is 111 415 662
Buy a genuine Porsche part, the aftermarket versions are so poorly molded the part is warped.

Yep that's the one, but will it fit a 914?

For anyone hunting for one of these, I found what I think might be an original at Sierra Madre Collection - at least it has the original and not the replacement part number?

I bought two of the Sierra madre 914 part number horn rings. They fit perfect on my stock 1975 steering wheel. No modifications at all, however I’ve always had problems with horn rings on my Momo hub. The hole for the horn wire is too far to the side, so I have to dremel away some of the plastic to get the ring to lay flat and line up with the holes.
