If anyone passing by Charleston SC is going, I've got a bunch of big parts to give away

My favorite swap! Should be huge this year since Hershey was a bust.

See everyone there!

I haven't been able to attend Hershey the past few years but was planning on it this year then.. well we know what happened. I'll definitely attend this one!

Posted by: rgolia May 21 2020, 07:21 AM

it is on my calendar....and we are ready to go.

Posted by: saigon71 Aug 29 2020, 07:51 AM

icon_bump.gif AND A CHANGE OF ADDRESS.

The management company for Ski Roundtop cancelled this swap meet due to Covid-19. Steve Limbert found another nice location only a few miles away, so the show is still on.

The new location is on the grounds of the Liberty Forge mini-golf course.

Address:
3921 Lisburn Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055

There will be a 914 car show to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our beloved teeners, with peoples choice gifts for 1st and 2nd place.

Hope to see you there!

Bob

I'll plan on being there.

Me too!

Posted by: jaredmcginness Aug 30 2020, 05:55 AM

I’ll be there! Really glad we can finally make one happen this year.

Bumping back up so east coast folks see this.

Question: Would it be wise to start a thread in the classifieds (or just in this thread - that might be the wrong location) for people to post up their parts needs? Maybe someone has something at home that they otherwise would not have brought to the swap.

Just an idea.

Great idea! beerchug.gif

Let's keep everything together. Post parts needs on this thread & save on shipping if someone coming to the show has them.

This works really good for big stuff that is hard to ship. We do this before most big swaps, advertise big stuff like body panels, seats, once even pre-sold a complete 911S oil line assembly, the one that runs the length of the car! Guy picked it up at Hershey. So if you have big stuff, pre-selling it before a swap is the way to go.

Posted by: 914forme Sep 11 2020, 07:22 AM

I currently need nothing unless you have a good 911 oil thermostat.

I do have a bunch of large 914 parts I can bring over, but need to know before hand.
Hoods
Decklids
Late style Rear Bumpers
Engine lid
Tinted Vent windows
914 Limited Edition Spoilers
then the parts get much smaller and more manageable to fit in a funnier car to drive.

Outside the scope of the swap, but if you have an Early Boxster, Cayman, or 993 I have BBS 10 spokes wheels, and new set of tires, that I will sell cheap. Tires are new Hanook Ventus V12 EVO2 still in Tire Rack wrapping.

And right afterwards will be offered a Cayman at an incredible deal. confused24.gif Just the way it works for me. dry.gif

Maybe I need to take a new approach, I have these wonderful lite wheels, I need a Cayman to go with them. biggrin.gif

If someone is interested in meeting up, I have these I could bring:

1) Wheels - 6x15 cookies: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=347935&hl=

2) Front Trunk: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=347934&hl=

If not, I'll just drive up in my 914 instead.

I am looking for an "early" cigarette lighter if someone has one...

Posted by: VaccaRabite Sep 11 2020, 08:14 AM

I am looking for a 2 VDO inch oil pressure gauge.

I'm also looking for the piping parts for heat. I have 75/76 parts and backdated my exhaust and want to get the heat working.

Dave, I might have the early cig lighter, I will check.

If you don't I think I have one also oil pressure gauge that is...

Posted by: jaredmcginness Sep 11 2020, 09:31 AM

Since I asked,
I am looking for:

-REAR trunk hinges and the accouterments they come with, in working condition.

-Some Coco mats if anyone has a set laying around.

-Maybe a cheapo 14" fuchs wheel for a full size spare.

@http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=23209 - when you say everything are you talking pivot bolts, small arm bracket , big arm bracket and the associated large arm? I have a set of the arms sitting on the bench to bring over will need to locate the other bits.

Attached Image

I am thinking #2, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36

25 is better replaced, but I will have them in plastic, they just deform a bit over time.

Posted by: jaredmcginness Sep 11 2020, 08:06 PM

@http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=2388 correct. I can get away with just the arms I believe, and replace the necessary pieces. One of my arms is bent, and the other broke off..... thanks to the PO towing backwards. smile.gif

Posted by: Cornerlot Sep 11 2020, 10:21 PM

As long as requests are being posted, I'm looking for a bare decklid for a 993. Message me if you can bring one, I'll be there with my 914-6.

I have many VDO 52mm oil.pressure gauges. Do you want the 0-5 bar or 0-10 bar range.
They are from 924's, 944's or VW GTI Rabbits.

The sender I have in the motor is for a 2 inch VDO 80PSI oil pressure meter. Not sure how that translates to bar, or if they are the same thing at all.

Was a good time today. Great weather and a pretty good turnout. 12 914s, a hand full of 911s, and a few water pumpers parked outside the "featured" area. Including a sweet Rabbit GTI, and a 924 Turbo.

Was great catching up my fellow 914 peeps.
Had the pleasure of meeting Stephen (914forme) in person.
Thanks for the deal on the lenses Stephen! Outstanding weather.
A very cool in period modified 914 from Stoddard showed up.
2.6L 6 cylinder. Nicely massaged flares.

great to finally meet you in person also Dion.

That Stoddard -6 was very nice patina car, front fenders where also nicely pulled, wish I had more time to crawl all around that car.

drooley.gif

And thank you @http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=10428 Bob for your hospitality and helping run such a great event.

Also met another Steve Jacobs - great guy, what a pleasure. Lots of great people in attendance and had a great time at the swap and show.

And Thank you @http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=9600 - 914 Rubber for the partying 914 give aways, and PMB and Eric for the caliper rebuild certificate. I appreciate a new set of relays, and I am sure everyone is thinking about how best to use their winnings.

Thank Both of you for your support of this community and of course the host of the event. Steve great event, thank your getting this together and doing the leg work to move locations.

@http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=2388 - it was nice meeting you even though I didn't realize who you were until I got home.

It was my first time and surely not the last. Hopefully next year I'll bring the -6 conversion instead of the 911.

Thanks @http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=10428 for helping out and for informing us of this event.

Gave me a chance to finally meet some other world members in person @http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=23209 , @http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=11329 and @http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=1435

It was great weather. I was also the lucky winner of some PMB perfection calipers. piratenanner.gif

Great day for a drive. Put on about 250 miles (roundtrip) in the 914. Met some folks but struggled with names/faces with the masks and all. Sold some wheels. Couldn't find the cigarette lighter I wanted. Only snapped a pic or two.. Mine's the white one.

Is that Fred Apgar’s old car? Did it have plaid seats?

Charlie

Posted by: Dion Sep 21 2020, 09:43 AM

Charlie, I have no idea. It’s on its 4th owner.
Originally purchased and modded by Stoddard. Their chief body shop man did the
hammer and dolly on the flares. Battery moved up front as well as fuel pump
Electric antenna in engine bay. Some custom basket weave covered center cushion.

It previoudly had a renegade sport seat prior to these pics. The owner was selling just the one for $400. I almost pulled the trigger as it was pretty nice.

That's my Irish Green 914-6. No, never owned by 'Fred Apgar'. The original black vinyl seats are still in it.

A huge thanks to Steve Limbert at Aircooled Racing for making this event happen. beerchug.gif

Thanks to PMB and 914Rubber for their generous donations and continued support of the 914 community.

I had a great time getting caught up with "the regulars" and it was nice to meet some new faces as well.

Sticking with tradition, I managed to get sunburned. dry.gif
