Move the pump (1973 2.0) from the stock location to the front? If so, cut an access hole like later years?

Can somebody please send a photo of the frunk rear wall, taken straight on, so I can get some dimensions for the hole?

I’m working on the same problem now too. I’m thinking about locating it under the gas tank. I think that is a common solution. I don’t want to cut the front bulkhead.

I put a CB pump up front under the tank, with the filter mounted by the steering rack. DD like this for 3 years without problems. I do want to add the plate and hole to avoid pulling the tank if the pump fails. (You never know.)

I handled my pump wiring with a module from Revolution Electronics.

I found it easier to wire the pump from the fuse panel, and I like the 3 second prime and the safety shut off. (No ign signal, no pump.)

If the module fails, you short the purple wires together and drive home.

Well, I moved my tank and pump, just FYI. MarkAttached Image Attached ImageAttached Image

I ran stainless lines, appropriately bent, through the boxed support structure into the tank compartment. Still need to wire it. Pump was recommended by PMO.

agree.gif best location,I'am not a fan of having a fuel pump inside the car but that's just me,the undertray panel keeps the pump out of the weather and offers protection from knocks.
