Hello,
I installed a 84 911 front suspension with aluminum cross member. I want to cover up the crossmember. stock 914 cover plate will not work. Question for all you with 911 front suspension what are you using to cover up cross member? My guess is 911 plate but I thought I would ask before purchasing a 911 cover plate.

You should be able to trim the 914 cover to fit.
I think you just need to trim the side walls

You should be able to trim the 914 cover to fit.
I think you just need to trim the side walls
Thanks Bruce. I'll try that. Lucky for me I didn't get rid of the original cover.

The 914 cover is made of a thin material, the 911 skid plate is much more stout.
Stout = heavier, but more protection.

Good to know since I plan to have a low stance. Any fitment issues such as gaps or modification needed for the 911 skid plate?

No, if your tub is straight, the fit is perfect. There are two small special brackets for the rear of it, you probably have them.

I’m running the aluminum cross member, 911 A arms and bought a new bottom 911 plate from Sierra Madre. It bolted right up with no modifications.

Mine fitted ok ,think I tapped 2 holes for 6mm bolts from memory.

I have the same. I cut the mounts from the steel cross member Drilled & welded them then bolted in place...fits & looks like factory.

Hard to find mention of those brackets when doing this conversion,I knew they would be needed so I built a set from 6mm flatbar ,on the 911 the swaybar mounts do the job but from Porsche they are a mental price,besides I didn't know if the fitted.
The ones I made were 14mm and 8mm holes @ each end.
