914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Leather Covered Steering Wheel

Posted by: RiqueMar Jun 16 2020, 04:11 PM

Hi All, I'm interested in having my steering wheel wrapped in leather. Can anyone share experiences, likes and dislikes, costs, etc?

Also, if anyone has a recommendation for an upholstery shop in SoCal, I'de very much appreciate it. driving.gif

If you are in San Diego, use these guys...

Have not seen their work on wheel wraps, but they are a quality shop and have make beautiful carpet kits.

There are good shops in LA too, but shop local!

Another happy customer of Dallas Steering Wheels... even did a thicker alcantara wheel on my F150.

I decided to do it myself and found it to be an impossible task (for me). I handed the project to my talented wife pray.gif and she did a fantastic job. It was a couple of years ago and the kit was about $50‐75.

I got her to cover 2 more and sold them. She vows to never touch another steering wheel unless she's driving.

Dallas Custom - concourse standard

Another vote for Dallas Custom...one note - they do not repaint your spokes and if you want that done, do it before you send it off....

I can bead blast and restore your spokes prior to leather wrap.
