What are the limits for attachments?

I tried to attach a photo (re-sized down to 2MB) but was rejected

"The total filespace required to upload all the attached files is greater than your per post or global limit. Please reduce the number of attachments or the size of the attachments."

This is 1.7 meg You are limited to 4 meg per post

You can zoom in enough to to see my orange peel

I usually size them to 850 pixels width.

Good enough for the forum, and you can load a bunch of pictures that way.

Yeah, it was at 4mb, i bumped it up to 8mb ...
