I've got a '76 and I know nothing of those. Not that I'm an authority. Just haven't seen them before. confused24.gif

The 75 that I sold didn't have the band either.

Mine had one originally so IIRC one hooks on the side and goes over the top to hook on the other side. I backdated using the post and used the knurled nut after it broke one day.

I thought it was the just the smaller band. The photo I saw had the band wrapped around the two small dents on the top edges of the cover.

My 75 didn’t have one either. Maybe they ran out of knurled nuts in 76 and used rubber bands instead...

I believe the larger ring is for the battery cover.
