So one 914 is among the twelve Porsches entered this year, and wondering if its driver Chris Strauch is a member here? He's running a pretty wild 914 with V8 power.

Meanwhile, Porsches swept 1-2-3 in qualifying for Time Attack 1 as well as 1-2 overall—ahead of the purpose-built open-wheelers. That's a big deal for 3000+ pound (easily), production 911-based race cars. And one of the three is 100% factory. Should be an epic battle between Pikes Peak Hall of Fame drivers David Donner and Jeff Zwart as they try to beat pole-sitter David Donohue (yes, the son of that Donohue, and a Daytona and Le Mans winner in his own right besides being a super nice guy).
Free live stream coverage with John Hindhaugh starts at 7:30am Mountain Standard Time on Mobil 1's Facebook page as well as Pikes Peak International Hill Climb's YouTube channel. More info at PPIHC.com

...wonder if that's the (prior) Jeff McPherson car ¿¿
Nice to see the breed running up the Pike on its 50th
Anniversary
^ Hadn't thought about that, but you're right. And, yes, that's definitely cool when you consider some of the machinery at the front of the grid.
So nice to hear John Hindhaugh on a Sunday morning, and it looks like this year's live feed is gonna be good...
Pike Peak... isn't that where 300HP TIVs in 356s used to run?

The Red Beast looks very similar. The RB needs a twin turbo power plant.
Not much 914 in that "914" though ...
Never did hear exactly what happened with David Donohue's run, but watching the Donner video sure checks your pucker factor...
(and I thought going through the kink flat in a spec Miata was scary...)
Donner did a tremendous job yesterday!
All the traction that was there during Race Week went out the window with a weather change on Saturday night. Put a Porsche first in Time Attack and third overall, 1.1 second behind the fastest Open Wheel car.
