914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Cowl Vent Question

Posted by: jagalyn Oct 7 2020, 08:03 PM

I've noticed that some cowl vents have a square wire mesh under them and some don't. Is there a specific year that these square wire mesh was added to the vent intakes?
Just wondering...

I believe the mesh came on in 74.

I think 72 and earlier did not have any grill.
The blower box lacks the shape at the top to accept a grill.

You can add it to any car, it's just a matter of the seal on the top has a grove the screen sits into. It's not a fun job , but if it's already apart your 1/2 way there.
