Ok, I was cleaning up some SSI branch pipes to sell and found this illusion by accident. I had the pieces side by side and one LOOKS longer than the other. It actuality that is NOT correct. Both pipes are the same height. Labeled pipes A and B, so I could swap them from side to side to show illusion. Then I stood them up to show they were the same height. Just thought it might be interesting.

I have one of those down in the basement. Can't get it off the exchanger it's on (the bolt won't come off).
I don't know if it just been a while since I had a teen with 1.8 heat exchangers, but the SS set I have on the wife's 914 don't seem to line up with the longs.
I just got a bunch of tin back from the powdercoaters so I guess I'll just have to try them and see.
