dry.gif Going to build a 1911cc. for my 1970 and already own a set of lifters. I read somewhere that the case needed to be opened 0.002 for clearance. Did I read this or will the lifters fit in the case just fine . Thanks in advance. Gordon

Where did you get them?
When they were available my recollection was they are drop in.
But .. if you are building a motor, why not just measure ?

I ended up with all the oversize ceramics. If yours are the standard .943 they'll drop right in..

IIRC the first runs of lifters were .002" oversize, later were stock size.

If you got the very first small hole lifters it's best if you disable the lifter pressure relief by-pass spring with a short piece of rod.

I have them in my 2.6 and a I have a set on the shelf.
