My car was previously repainted and the sail trim was painted as well. I'm going to have the car repainted again and now that I have the painted sail trim off of the back I'm wondering something. Has anyone ever ground down the area underneath where the sail trim sits in the back to smooth out the general appearance instead of repainting and reinstalling that trim?
People have but you also have to weld up the seam. It's a big job.
Be aware the targa top seals on the horizontal trim. You still need that piece.
