vin number starts at 914 but I’m curious why the ignition is on the right and it is 1972 year model

Because all real /6 cars from '72 were just like that.

Yep. VW steering column instead of Porsche.

Looks pretty rough in the pictures. Oil cooler in front in the wrong place. And I really dislike those rear panel Porshe reflectors... it may be rare but I'm not that impressed.

Nice in a way, but needs a full restoration. That restoration would add a lot to the cost.

Estimate is $125-175k.

A real 2.7 MFI Carrera RS engine.
Regardless of the condition, it will be expensive.

Needs at least $100k throw at it....likely more.

My favorite pic:
Check out where they located the engine relay board (1) and the RPM transducer for the MFI (2). The module is just sheet metal screwed into the fire wall. Now that's creative!

This car really does need lots of work.

Lots of extra holes in the firewall

a little rough, but with a 2.7 MFI engine, I 'm sure its a lot of fun too!

Rare and nasty

I would say that this car sold for a bargain price. Next to the last 914-6 ever made, a 1972 one of 260, an m471 one of 33, gemini blue metallic, a 2.7 mfi engine, and looks mostly complete. With pristine stock sixes selling for 150, several m471s selling above 450 and the two 916s recently selling on each side of a million, this one in my opinion is an absolute bargain. I cannot believe that it only sold for 145 plus ten percent. I actually thought that it would go just north of 200

Going to be a really nice car when it is restored...

Let me know when you’re done properly restoring it, Pete, I’ll be happy to test drive it for ya-along with you’re white one! w00t.gif evilgrin.gif

I agree 100% George, very cheap for it's pedigree
