So many great roles and always that commanding presence... his voice unmistakable and always so smooth as JB. Rest In Peace indeed, good sir...

I still remember the theater where I saw Dr. No in 1962. 13 years old with a sweet lil' honey (don't remember her though). My favorite scene is in 'Raiders - Last Crusade' when he uses his umbrella to scare up a flock of seagulls into the path of a German fighter plane.

RIP

He was a good actor and loved his parts in Bond but certainly not a good person, he openly condoned hitting women including his own wife.

Oh, and you were a personal friend of Mr. Connery and know all the intimate details of his personal life? I doubt it.

Frankly speaking, he admitted he did but with...

1. A warning

2. Open handed

Frankly I agree with him on it. There are times it's warranted. Being a woman should not mean an easy out. Put yourself in a mans world, expect to be treated like one.

Do you limit your physical abuse to woman or do children and animals also make the list?

You've been taught nonsense by spoiled minds. And yes I do believe in corporal punishment. I've raised 3 kids and they aren't on the evening news like the nitwits we see today regularly.

He did revise his opinion of this later.
In 2006 he told the Times of London,
"My view is I don't believe that any level of abuse against women is ever justified under any circumstances. Full Stop."

An open handed slap is hardly the definition of abuse. Not by a long-shot.

I bet the cops would disagree with you on that. As would most of society.

Last Saturday - the day of his death - we were hiking in the woods around the monastry "Kloster Eberbach" where parts of his famous movie "The Name Of The Rose" were shot in 1986. What a coincidence.

Greetings, Arno

I would say it was a tie between him and Pierce Brosnan.

Notice how the really good Bonds are not English?

Connery was the best Classic Bond, but I think Craig is the best recent model.

Law enforcement officer ? Or his astrological sign. And yes an open handed hit is abuse. I just helped a family get a restraining order against her hubby who hit her with an open hand on the back of the head.
