Took my passenger Outer door handle off to degrease as it was pulling pretty hard before releasing the door to open. After cleaning it now seems to pull a bit harder than before. What did I do wrong?

remove the latch mechanism. That is what gets dirty and gummed up. Soak in degreaser cleaner pb blaster etc..

What is you preferred lube for door/frunk latches?

White lithium grease. They have it at your local FLAPS and Home Depot.

To the OP:

You need to first align your door.....but first check your longs...are they straight and not rusted and sagging? Do the jack post test first by jacking the car up at the jack post to see if the door alignment changes.
If you longs are good then you need to adjust the strike latch on the B pillar along with cleaning the entire latch assembly in the door.

This is a weekend project and next to taking out the brake proportioning valve reinstalling the latch takes patience along with a tool or a skinny arm to reach the bolt which holds it in near the edge of the window. So....take off the side valance and check the longs first and report back with photos to show off how good your longs are.
